Democrats to consider medical marijuana resolution at state convention

UNDATED (WRN)  Wisconsin Democrats will consider some arguably controversial resolutions at their state convention, although they’re not controversial within the party, or as contentious as resolutions which were considered – but ultimately rejected – at the state Republican Party convention in Milwaukee earlier this month.

“We’re not talking about secession or nullification at our convention,” said Melissa Baldauff, communications director for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. Delegates who will meet June 6th and 7th in Wisconsin Dells will consider resolutions on medical marijuana, a single payer health care system and a carbon tax.

“These proposed resolutions are very consistent with what Democrats have been talking about here in Wisconsin and across the nation,” said Baldauff. “This is what we believe in, this is what we care about.”

And unlike the contentious resolutions on succession, nullification and state sovereignty, all of which were rejected by GOP delegates, these resolutions are likely to gain approval by Democrats.
