STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Stevens Point man has been formally charged after attacking a woman and driving into a crowd on Sunday night.
34-year-old William Somers has been charged with two counts of battery along with one count each of disorderly conduct and recklessly endangering safety.
Police responded to a call Sunday around 6:30pm on Wausau's North Fifth Avenue. Authorities say Somers allegedly attacked a woman with a tire iron then drove his vehicle onto the lawn where she and two other were standing.
Somers was taken into custody near Stevens Point. His vehicle was found by Kronenwetter police near Maple Ridge Road and is currently being held by the Wausau Police Department.
