WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAU) -- A water main break has forced Wisconsin Rapids officials to reroute traffic from one of its busiest streets. The break occurred on South 8th Street, which is also Highway 13, near Pepper Avenue.
Northbound 8th Street traffic is being rerouted around the flooded street. Water Works and Light Commission officials turned off the water to that section, and cannot allow traffic on the street since it may be washed out underneath the heaved concrete pavement.
Wisconsin Rapids officials urge drivers to go slow and safe while following the cones, barrels, and signs around the affected area.
