Three injured in Portage County crash


STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A man and two children were injured in a crash in Portage County early yesterday. 

The one vehicle crash took place near the intersection of Highway DB and Highway X near Stevens Point around 12:30am. Portage County officials say the vehicle continued through the intersection without stopping and crashed into a tree after heading into a ditch.

The driver was a 29-year-old man from the town of Sharon. A 7-year old boy and 3-year-old girl were also in the vehicle. All of them were transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The boy has been listed in serious condition.

The vehicle caught fire, but the fire did not cause the injuries to the occupants.

No names have been released.
