Big Time Soccer Comes To Miller Park Tonight

MILWAUKEE, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) The Milwaukee Brewers and Miller Park are hosting the Mexican soccer club C-D Guadalajara -- known throughout the world as Chivas -- and Swansea City A-F-C of the English Premier League Wednesday evening.

This will mark the first-ever professional soccer match at Miller Park. The event is part of the Chivas’ annual U-S Tour, which includes four matches against some of the best teams from top soccer nations – Brazil, England, Germany and Mexico.

The roster for Chivas includes Mexican national team defender Carlos Salcido, who recently participated in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

For Wednesday’s match day, parking lots will open at 4:30 p.m. and the Miller Park gates will open at 6:30 p.m. Futbol Fiesta, a free interactive fan zone, will take place on Miller Park’s Plaza along the third-base side of the stadium from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.

The match will start at 8 p.m. The pitch will be laid out in an east-west orientation with one goal in left field and the other goal near first base.
