(WNFL) - The Milwaukee Brewers are reportedly close to signing free-agent infielder Mark Reynolds.  The Journal Sentinel says the 30-year-old Reynolds is expected to get a minor league deal for now, with a good chance of making the club at Spring Training.  Reynolds is expected to fill at least part of the gap at first base that was left when Corey Hart signed with Seattle.  The Journal Sentinel says it's possible that Reynolds and his right-handed bat could platoon with left-handed-hitting Juan Francisco at first.  Reynolds played in 135 games last year with Cleveland and the New York Yankees, hitting .220 with 21 homers and 67 R-B-I's.  He has struck out more than 200 times in three big league seasons.  He set a Major League record by fanning 223 times with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2009.  Reynolds could also provide back-up help at third base, where Aramis Ramirez missed 70 games last season with a lingering knee injury.
