WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- Marathon County officials say a sex offender will be released back into the community next week.

49-year-old Randy Rockman will be released February 25 after serving 9 years for 1st degree sexual assault of a child. Rockman will be under the supervision of the Department of Corrections upon his release and be living in transitional housing near the Marathon County Courthouse.

Rockman is now a lifetime registrant of the sexual offender registry and will be under GPS monitoring for life as well. He'll be on a highly restricted release schedule as directed by community corrections.
