Marshfield approves teacher raises for summer classes

School District of Marshfield WI
School District of Marshfield WI

MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) -- The Marshfield Board of Education has approved a $3.50 to $5.50 per hour pay increase for instructors teaching summer school classes in the district this coming year.

Superintendent Peg Geegan says the pay increase was prompted by a survey of high school students that found high demand for more summer school options, and the resulting need to make teaching over summer more attractive to teachers.

School board member Randell Krueger says the pay increase should also result in a wider range of summer school courses that can be offered. The rate of pay will increase from $16.50 to $20 per hour for elective courses, and $22 per hour for high school accredited courses.
