WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Wausau man is going to prison for dealing drugs and weapons.
31-year-old Derrick Sangster pled no contest last July to possessing firearms as a felon and possessing marijuana with intent to deliver, plus operating vehicle after revocation and bail jumping charges. He tried to withdraw the no contest pleas, but was unsuccessful. A December sentencing date was delayed after Sangster was caught trafficking heroin.
One of the many guns he possessed was stolen in the 2012 Statton’s General Store robbery in Tomahawk.
Judge Michael Moran sent Sangster to the state prison system for six years, followed by five more years of extended supervision.
