ROSHOLT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Rosholt family is upset about a recent health fair display teaching sex education to 8th graders. The class is called Teen Living, and they viewed displays put together by high school students including how to use a condom, and about birth control and sexually transmitted diseases.
Sara Brown was told by Rosholt school officials they don’t teach sex education to eighth graders, but a couple of weeks later, her daughter was exposed to these lessons as part of the health fair.
Brown says her daughter felt uncomfortable walking around in the health fair with her classmates and seeing these displays. The school admits a mistake was made, and plans to make sure the younger grades are not exposed to certain materials in the future.
