ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAU) -- More details are known about a recent shooting that happened at a Rothschild bar.
The August 3rd incident at P.J.’s Log Jam left a 25-year-old man injured. The victim’s name has not been released.
27-year-old suspect Alex Hammoc of Wausau was arrested in Chicago Saturday. Court records show that Hammoc taunted his victim during an argument before firing a silver colored semi automatic pistol. The report says Hammoc also pointed the weapon at another person before pointing at the shooting victim.
When the victim charged towards Hammoc, the bouncer had to break them up. It was then that Hammoc allegedly fired the pistol from about five feet away striking the man’s thigh.
As of Thursday morning, Hammoc is still in the Cook County Illinois jail awaiting extradition to Marathon County. When he arrives, he faces charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, possession of a firearm by a felon, intentionally pointing a firearm at a person, and substantial battery.
