Police looking for man charged in Sunday morning Rothschild bar shooting


ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAU) -- Rothschild police and Marathon County deputies are looking for a suspect in a Sunday morning shooting in Rothschild.

Prosecutors have filed charges against 27-year-old Alex Hammoc of Wausau. He's accused of shooting a man during a bar fight outside of PJ's Log Jam on Business 51. He's now facing charges of recklessly endangering safety, substantial battery, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and pointing a gun at a person.

Rothschild Police Chief Jeremy Hunt say a 25-year-old man was shot at P.J.’s Log Jam at about 2:11 a.m. Sunday. The gunshot victim was initially taken to St. Clare's Hospital in Weston, but later transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for further treatment. The man's name has not been released.
