Ferguson enters not-guilty plea to drug distribution charges

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- One of the four people arrested for selling heroin at a home near a school claims she’s not guilty. 48-year-old Kelly Ferguson was arrested in May at a home on north 5th Street in Wausau, just a block from Franklin Elementary School. Ferguson allegedly sold heroin to undercover police officers on two occasions. She was in court Tuesday, where she entered the not-guilty plea.

Ferguson is charged with five felonies and a misdemeanor, all connected to heroin and cocaine possession, distribution, and maintaining a drug house. Investigators say Ferguson would travel to Chicago twice each month to pick up heroin for resale in Wausau, or she would get the drugs from 30-year-old Tyvon Harris.

Ferguson has been free on a $10,000 cash bond since July 28th. She has a pretrial conference scheduled for August 21st in Marathon county court.
