PLUM LAKE, Wis. (WSAU) - Vilas County officials say the human remains found near Plum Lake are those of a missing Sayner woman.

55-year-old Sandra Schinke was last seen April 5th, 2012 walking along county highway "N" about 2 miles east of Sayner.

A hunter found a shoe and a small jacket, and thought it was out of the ordinary and contacted authorities.

Vilas County Sheriff’s deputies, Wisconsin State Patrol, DNR wardens, and other agencies searched the area and found the remains. The location of the human remains is only about a mile and a half from where Schinke disappeared.

The case remains under investigation.  No cause of death has been reported.
