Merrill fills vacant school board seat

by

MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) - Merrill schools have a new board member, thanks to a special election of the school board this week. Former School Board President Jeff Verdoorn left the school board recently after announcing his intentions in July. His replacement is Linda Yingling. On the second ballot, Yingling received a majority, with five of the eight possible votes.

Nancy Kwiesielewicz and Kevin Blake were also considered for the open seat. Yingling will complete Verdoorn’s term, which ends next April.
