THORP, Wis. (WSAU) - A woman from Thorp has died from injuries she received in an August 31st car crash. Clark County authorities say 80-year-old Betty M. Benzschawel was airlifted from the scene to an area hospital. She died Thursday night.

Betty Benzschawel was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, 83-year-old Alvin J. Benzschawel. Neither of them were wearing seat belts.

The crash happened August 31st at 11:30 a.m. in the Town of Worden at the intersection of Tieman Avenue and Broek Road. They collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by 19-year-old Waylon J. Copenhaver of Stanley. Clark County deputies say the Benzschawel vehicle pulled into the path of Copenhaver’s vehicle.
