WEYAUWEGA, Wis. (WSAU) - Five people were hospitalized after a multiple vehicle crash Monday on Highway 10. Waupaca County deputies were assisted by Weyauwega Police, State Patrol, and numerous fire, highway, and medical teams after a dump truck pulling a trailer loaded with an end loader tractor rear-ended a slower moving farm implement in the eastbound lanes. The third vehicle was a car hauler semi, which made slight contact with the loaded trailer.

Names have not been released, but deputies say the five people were taken to several area hospitals by Gold Cross and Weyauwega ambulances, plus medical helicopters Theda Star and Eagle 3 airlifted the most seriously injured.

The crash happened at about 1:40 p.m. a half mile east of County Highway U. It took officials and crash scene investigators until 7:00 p.m. to clear the scene.
