"Silly the Clown" released from prison after sexual assault conviction

WAUKESHA, WI (WTAQ) - A man who used to perform for kids as "Silly the Clown" has completed a six-year prison term for sexual assault.

44-year-old Ronald Schroeder moved to a house in Waukesha Tuesday.

A jury convicted him in 2008 of sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend, after she passed out from a night of drinking. He was also convicted of taking nude photos of her at the same time.

She was 21 back then. Police discovered the photos while investigating a domestic dispute later on.

Schroeder lived in Brookfield at the time.

He was found guilty on a total of 29 charges -- two for sexual assault, and the rest for illegally photographing nude images.

Schroeder was once a suspect in the 1991 death of his infant daughter, and the 2005 abuse of another daughter. He was never charged in those cases.
