Cyclist now charged with OWI homicide after Fall Ride crash

RHINELANDER, Wis. (WSAU) - Homicide charges have been filed against a woman who was allegedly drunk when she crashed her motorcycle into another motorcycle, causing the other rider’s death. 50-year-old Lynette Hamon from Elkhorn will have an initial appearance in Oneida County court November 18th before Judge Patrick O’Melia at 1:30 p.m.

Sheriff’s investigators say the crash happened at the intersection of of Prairie Rapids Road and County Highway L north of Tomahawk the evening of September 13th, during the Harley Davidson Fall Ride weekend. Hamon pulled into a left turn, in the path of Benjamin Guite, Sr. from Merrill. Guite died a short time later at Aspirus Wausau Hospital from his injuries.
