BOSTON, MA (WSAU) - After a hot start, the 2nd ranked Wisconsin Badgers went cold in Boston, losing to Boston College 9-2 Friday night. Both teams started the night in the top 10, with Wisconsin ranked 2nd and Boston College at number 7.
The first period started off pretty even, but then Boston College’s Austin Cangelosi scored at the 10:14 mark, and did it again fifty seconds later. It was all BC from then on.
Landon Peterson did well in goal early, but was pulled in the second period for sophomore Adam Miller. Miller faced 27 shots in two periods, but neither goalie got any offensive help from their teammates, as the Eagles had 49 shots on goal compared to just 20 for the Badgers.
The Badgers got their two goals from Michael Mersch and Nic Kerdiles, giving Kerdiles a streak of scoring in 15 games in a row going back to last season.
The Wisconsin Badgers haven't given up nine goals in a game since a playoff against Colorado College 16 years ago.
Wisconsin travels across town for another game Saturday night against Boston University. You can hear the pregame show and the action on Fox Sports 1390 AM and 93.9 FM starting at 5:30 p.m.
