One thief, two stolen cars crashed

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) - One man was able to steal two vehicles and crash them both early this morning. Portage County deputies apprehended 22-year-old Jonathan Bubla from a Village of Whiting home at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

A deputy on patrol discovered a vehicle crashed in a ditch along Highway HH near Riverview Drive. The vehicle was not occupied, and was still running. When another deputy checked the registration and was driving to the owner’s address, he discovered another vehicle stuck in a ditch along County Highway M. That second vehicle had been reported stolen from Marathon County Wednesday night.

Close to the crash first crash site, deputies observed a partially open garage on HH near Echo Dells Drive. They could hear noises inside, and found suspect Bubla inside. He was arrested without incident.
