Packers receivers: Cobb could miss "multiple weeks"; Jones could play Sunday

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Green Bay Packers' receiver Randall Cobb may be out for "multiple weeks" after his right knee was injured in Sunday's win at Baltimore.

Cobb was chopped below the knee on a low, but apparently legal hit, by Ravens' rookie safety Matt Elam. Cobb is Green Bay's most versatile offensive weapon as a wideout, a rusher out of the backfield as well as a kick returner.

Coach Mike McCarthy could not say much more about the third-year Cobb at his news conference Monday afternoon.

He said receiver James Jones may have a chance to return on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns at Lambeau Field. Jones hurt a shin that drove him out of Sunday's Ravens win early.

Linebacker Nick Perry hurt a foot, and McCarthy says the second-year pro will not play against the Browns. The coach said he was surprised that Perry's injury was so bad Monday.

As for Jones and Cobb, McCarthy said their injuries were obvious to those who watched them get hurt.

The 3-2 Packers will start practicing Wednesday for the Browns' game. And with all the injuries, McCarthy says he plans to scale back that work.
