Bones found near Janesville may be missing Fitchburg woman

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WSAU) - Investigators are trying to determine if female bones discovered in a Rock County burn pit are those of a missing Fitchburg woman.

Aprina Paul was last seen October 27th, and the remains were found over the weekend.

The bone fragments were found after Fitchburg police received information about a Rock County home and a 29-year-old man. The man has been interviewed, and is being held on a probation violation, but hasn’t been charged with a crime related to Paul’s disappearance.

Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden issued a statement Sunday saying several items of evidence were found at the residence, including the bone fragments. The bones were tested and confirmed as human female bones. Additional testing is underway to try and determine the person's identity.
