MADISON, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) L-S-U and Wisconsin are getting closer to finalizing a two-game football series. The first contest would be played at Reliant Stadium in Houston to start the 2014 season. The other game is planned for Lambeau Field in Green Bay in a future campaign that’s yet to be determined.
It was first reported a month ago that the two schools were working on a possible two-game set – but it was uncertain at that time whether the Southeastern Conference would play nine league games down the line instead of eight. L-S-U athletic director Joe Alleva said today at the S-E-C meetings in Florida that a deal with the Badgers is all but finalized.
The Packers say a Lambeau Field game with Wisconsin and L-S-U is being pursued – but it’s not at the point in which an announcement can be made yet.
