MERRILL, WI (WTAQ) - Authorities have been looking for a drug convict who ran away from his parole officer in north central Wisconsin.
Officials said 36-year-old Christopher Meindel of Merrill refused to provide a urine sample for a drug test, and then ran away from his parole agent’s office on Tuesday.
Meindel has had previous drug convictions, and he’s been free on a signature bond on four new drug counts filed in January.
They include possessing materials for making methamphetamines, and storing ammonia in illegal containers. Officials expect bail jumping to be added to the list.
Lincoln County deputies believe Meindel may have fled to the Baraboo area, where he was working.
