CRANDON, WI (WXPR) - A Forest county jury has found a 47-year-old Crandon man guilty of five of of counts concerning the New Year's Day 2012 traffic death of a man in the town of Nashville south of Crandon. The jury came to a verdict shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday in the case of Norbert Polar. Polar was found guilty of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and guilty of hit and run and traffic related offenses including a fifth DUI. After two days of testimony with numerous witnesses, the jury concluded Polar was the driver of a car that struck and killed 41 year old Klynt Decorah as he was walking along Highway 55 in the town of Nashville. Polar's car was later found off the road. Polar was remanded to the Forest County Jail and faces sentencing in about 8 weeks.
