Parents concerned about possible abduction threat in Weston

WESTON, WI (WSAU) -  Some parents in Weston and police are keeping a closer watch on their neighborhood after a stranger talked to some young children Wednesday.

A stranger in a blue pickup stopped in a driveway on Corozalla Drive, got out and asked children about a snowmobile next door. The father of the two young boys, who chose to remain anonymous, told WSAU they were outside with a 10-year-old neighbor girl playing when the man approached them, asked lots of questions about who lives in the houses, and eventually asked if he could take the youngest boy with him.

Police are not sure if there was an abduction threat, but they have stepped up patrols and parents are not taking any chances. Police say the man may have jokingly made the comment, but the father of the boys says, “Regular people do not make comments, even if in jest, about abducting children.”

Anyone with information about the man in the blue truck, or about strangers talking to children should contact law enforcement.
