Billboard Beats: Goodbye 'Harlem Shake,' It's Time to Go Thrift Shopping

By Lindsey DiMattina, Hollywood Staff

There is only so long that people can obsess over a song until it gets overplayed and worn out (remember when ''Gangnam Style'' was a thing?). When a song becomes every other person's ringtone and follows you from bar to bar on a Saturday night - not to mention clogs your newsfeed with new ''viral'' dance videos set to said ditty - you know you are approaching maximum capacity. Well, that moment has finally come for Baauer's nearly wordless tune, ''Harlem Shake.''

This week, ''Harlem Shake'' has been knocked down a slot, with Macklemore's ''Thrift Shop'' moving back into No. 1. ''Thrift Shop'' has already been in and out of the No. 1 spot, but the radio and DJs haven't killed it yet.
