Sheriff's retirement date still uncertain

by

WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -  The exact retirement date for Marathon County’s Sheriff is still a mystery. That’s because several documents need to be completed before Sheriff Randy Hoenisch can actually select the retirement date.

In a press release today, Hoenisch said, “The Wisconsin Retirement System was contacted earlier this month, and I am awaiting documentation necessary to complete the retirement process. Until the packet arrives and I know what the retirement date will be, i cannot notify the Governor with a specific date for retirement.”

Hoenisch announced February 22nd that he would retire amid reports that he's been a no-show at his office. He will also need to spend more time with his family, knowing his wife Kim is likely to be incarcerated in April after being convicted of taking pain pills from probationers under her supervision when she was a Marathon County probation officer.

Second in command Chief Deputy Scott Parks will manage the sheriff’s business when Hoenisch leaves until Governor Scott Walker appoints a replacement.
