Big numbers expected for 4th Annual Never Forgotten Honor Flight Run-Walk

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - Over 1000 runners are expected in Wausau tomorrow for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight 5K run at Bull Falls Brewery.

The 4 year old run has seen an explosion in participation over the last few years, something that Never Forgotten board member Jim Campbell attributes to the earliness in the year. "It's the first time they get to do an event like this so they can shoot for whatever they're shooting for in timing."

The event starts at noon on Saturday ahead of the annual Bockfest at the Brewery. Campbell says the volunteers at the event really help put on a good race and a good show. "They've thrown everything they got into this." All runners will get complimentary drink tickets for the Bockfest, and the top three lady and mens runners will also get commemorative steins. The VFW is scheduled to serve food as well.

Preregistration for the event is close, but on site registration will begin before the race at noon. Proceeds for the event go to the Honor Flight.
