WAUSAU, WI (WTAQ) - Authorities are trying to determine why a 49-year-old man died while snowshoeing at a state park near Wausau.

Marathon County sheriff’s deputies said two men found the victim’s body around 7 p.m. Tuesday, on a trail near the west end of Rib Mountain State Park.

The man was taken to a Wausau hospital, where he died.

Foul play is not suspected.
