Packers Tender Offer Shields

by

GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) Green Bay corner Sam Shields has reportedly received a two-million-dollar tender offer from the Packers for this season. Shields is a restricted free agent, which means he can shop around for a better deal and the Packers have the right to match it. If they don’t, they would get a second round draft choice from the team that signs him.

Shields’ tender was first reported by E-S-P-N and Pro Football Talk. There’s no immediate word on any possible talks toward a long-term deal.

Earlier, we learned that Packers’ center Evan Dietrich-Smith was given a lower tender offer of one-point-three million dollars for this year. If he gets an offer from another team and the Packers don’t match it, they won’t get any compensation.
