The legendary Rolling Stones wrapped up the U.S. leg of their 50th Anniversary tour Monday night in Washington, D.C.  Taylor Swift, who joined Mick Jagger and the guys onstage as their special guest during one of the shows, says now that she's worked with the iconic group, she admires them even more.

Taylor, who sang the 1964 Stones-penned song "As Tears Go By" with the band in Chicago earlier this month, says, "Performing with the Rolling Stones...it just was everything that you would think it would be, but better. ‘Cause they’ve been on this huge, heroic pedestal for me for so long, and you walk into a situation like that and you don’t know what to expect. And having experienced that, they’re now at an even higher level of hero status for me."

So what was it about working with the Stones, often called the World's Greatest Rock 'n Roll Band, that made Taylor think so much more highly of them?  "Mostly because of their attitude. Because of their hospitality," she explains. "Because they hand-write notes, thanking you for being there. Because you get to get pictures with them and hang out with them."

It's nice to know that even a superstar like Taylor is enough of a fan girl to freak out over getting a picture with one of her favorite groups.  So what was the most memorable moment of her Stones experience?  Taylor says it had to do with the fact that while she and Mick Jagger were singing onstage, they did a little twirling dance move together.

"The musical director and Mick and I were all rehearsing the song, in a dressing room, with a piano and -- we were just kinda goofing around and we started dancing, like waltz -- like over-exaggerated ballet moves," Taylor recalls. "And then we started twirling around the room. And it was hilarious, because we forgot the words and we just started laughing."

She adds, "We ended up incorporating a twirl into the performance, in homage to the hilarious musical rehearsal that we had that day."

Other stars who joined the Stones onstage during this leg of their U.S. tour included Katy Perry , Sheryl Crow , Keith Urban , Carrie Underwood , Mary J. Blige and Gwen Stefani .  When the band did a limited series of shows in November and December as a warm-up, Lady Gaga , John Mayer , Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine , and Bruce Springsteen were among their special guests.
