WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - Wausau’s teachers will be getting a raise.
The school board approved a 2.07% raise for teachers Monday. They also bumped up the starting teacher pay to $35,211 dollars. The board acknowledged that teachers and administrators have made some sacrifices during the pay freeze of the last two years, which helped balance the budget.
The pay raise kicks in at the start of the school year this fall. The contract is good for one year. Board President Michelle Schaefer says both parties are happy with the outcome.
