Hoenisch sentencing delayed until August

WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) As expected, the sentencing hearing for a former probation officer who stole drugs from the inmates she supervised is being delayed. Kim Hoensich, the wife of former Marathon County sheriff Randy Hoenisch, wanted the delay so an alternate pre-sentencing report court be completed.

Hoenish's lawyers objected to the initial pre-sentencing report that was prepared by the state Department of Justice. Hoenisch is a former DOJ employee. The defense hired its own expert to prepare their own report, and the judge granted more time for that report to be completed.

Hoenisch has already pled no contest to a series of charges including theft of narcotics and misconduct in public office. She's free on $10,000 signature bond.

A new sentencing date is scheduled for August 12.
