WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - A man charged with driving drunk and killing a woman from Loyal is going to prison. 22-year-old Tyler Deal of La Crosse entered a guilty plea to one count of felony homicide by use of a motor vehicle with a prohibited alcohol content. Three other felonies and two misdemeanors were dismissed and read in at sentencing.
Judge Jill Falstad also ordered Deal to spend nine years on probation when he gets out and participate in victim impact panel discussions, telling his story a minimum of twice a year for nine years.Deal drove off the road February 26th of 2012 striking a utility pole. His blood alcohol level was .093 at the time.
22-year-old Paige Delo of Spencer died in the crash. Delo’s two young children were not in the car when it crashed.
