MEQUON, Wis. (WSAU-Woodchucks) -- A Ryan Krill pinch hit, walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth sent the Lakeshore Chinooks home victorious over the Wisconsin Woodchucks by a score of 5-4 Monday night.

The Wisconsin Woodchucks trailed from the bottom of the first all the way until the top of the seventh. Two runs in the seventh followed by Josh Goossen-Brown’s fifth home run of the year in the eighth would give the Woodchucks a late 4-3 edge. They would take that lead to the bottom of the ninth. With a runner on first and one out, Krill pinch hit and blasted one over the right field wall for the walk-off and the 5-4 victory.

After a scoreless top of the first for Lakeshore starter Tim Faix, the Chinooks would get on the board against Danny Young in the bottom of the frame. A Mike Papi double put runners on second and third with one out before a wild pitch scored Chris Manning from third to give the Chinooks a 1-0 lead. Aaron Machbitz proceeded to hit a flyball to left, where Rob Bennie made a leaping catch, crashing against the wall, but the long fly out would allow Papi score to extend the lead to 2-0.

Bennie would come through with his bat as well in the top of the second. After Matt Tellor singled and went to second on a groundout, Bennie doubled into the right field corner to score Tellor and cut the Chinooks lead to one run.

The Chinooks would get that run right back in the bottom of the inning. With two on and two out, Andrew Stevenson knocked a single to score Darrell Miller, Jr., from third and extend the Chinooks lead back to two runs. The score would remain 3-1 in favor of the Chinooks all the way until the top of the seventh. With Bennie on second and Edgar Figueroa on first, Brandon Krieg doubled into the left center field gap to score both runs and tie the game at three runs apiece.

After allowing the early runs, Young shutdown the Chinooks from then on out. Young finished seven innings, allowing only those three runs on six hits in a no-decision.

The Woodchucks and Chinooks will wrap up the two game series tomorrow at Kapco Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35. Listen to the play-by-play on Fox Sports Wausau at 1390 AM or 93.9 FM.
