Grand Marsh bank robbery suspect in court

MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) -- A man from Friendship made an initial court appearance on a bank robbery charge Friday.  55-year-old Glenn Paulson is accused of robbing the Grand Marsh State Bank on July 3rd. US Attorney John Vaudreuil says they have evidence showing Paulson entered the bank armed with a handgun, pointed it at the tellers, and said, “this is a robbery.” He then allegedly demanded car keys from another customer, but that woman did not respond. A teller offered her keys instead.

Paulson remains in custody. His arraignment is scheduled for July 19th in U.S. District Court in Madison.

Officers from the FBI, Adams County Sheriff’s Department, Villa Park, Ill. Police, and the Chicago office of the FBI have been investigating the case. The assigned prosecutor is Assistant U.S. Attorney Grant C. Johnson.
