TOWN OF RHINE, WI (WTAQ) - Officials say an 8-year-old child was hurt after being hit by downed power lines after a car drove into a front yard.

Authorities say it happened on County Highway EH in the Sheboygan County Town of Rhine around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

A driver lost control of their vehicle, drove through the ditch, then struck a power pole, a sign and a parked car before finally stopping.

The child was injured when the power lines fell.  The child was flown to Children's Hospital near Milwaukee. There is no word the child's condition.

Officials say they believe the driver had been drinking before the crash.
