MAUSTON, Wis. (WSAU) -- The man accused of killing one woman and trying to kill another outside of a Mauston bar was back in court Monday.

Judge Paul Curran found probable cause, and bound over 29-year-old Cody Treul for the death of 29-year-old Gail Howland and the shooting of 23-year-old Ebony Lasher outside of PJ’s Bar Friday May 31st.

During Monday’s preliminary hearing, witnesses told the investigating officer they could identify Treul as the shooter.

An autopsy report shows Howland was shot ten times from different ranges. The surviving victim, Ebony Lasher, remains hospitalized at UW-Hospital in Madison and is paralyzed on the right side from the chest down. Lasher’s mother told the court her daughter can also identify Treul as the shooter.

Treul remains in custody unable to pay a two million dollar cash bond. An arraignment hearing is set for August 28th in Juneau County court.
