Bucks Swap Redick In Sign & Trade

MILWAUKEE, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) The Milwaukee Bucks have lost their third veteran guard to free agency – but this time, they’ll get something for it. The Bucks helped pull off a three-team swap yesterday, which sent shooting guard J-J Redick to the Los Angeles Clippers in a sign-and-trade deal. In exchange, Milwaukee will get two future second-round draft choices – one from the Clippers, and one from the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns traded forward Jared Dudley to the Clips. Phoenix will get two players from L-A – Racine native Caron Butler, and young point guard Eric Bledsoe. The deal cannot be finalized until the N-B-A’s signing period begins next Wednesday.

The Bucks could have got nothing for Redick, who was an unrestricted free agent. The 29-year-old veteran agreed to a four-year, 27-million dollar contract with the Clippers. Milwaukee obtained Redick in February from the Orlando Magic, in a failed effort to move up from the final playoff in the Eastern Conference. He averaged 12 points a game and 32-percent from three-point range in his short time with the Bucks, both below his career averages.

The Bucks are in need of shooting guards after losing three of them the past couple weeks. Monta Ellis refused to exercise an 11-million-dollar player option, and Mike Dunleavy left for the Chicago Bulls.
