UNDATED (WSAU) The Big 10 Conference is dropping Suzie Favor-Hamilton's name from its female athlete-of-the-year award. The Stevens Point olympian admitted last year that she was working as a high-priced Las Vegas escort.
The Big 10 made the decision during conference meetings in Illinois yesterday. The University of Wisconsin was consulted and did not object to the change.
Hamilton was a stand-out track star at SPASH, and competed in the Olympics in 1996, 2000, and 2004. She was outed by The Smoking Gun web site, and later said she worked as an escort to deal with depression.
