MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) - A 28 year old Waupun man being held in Lincoln County could face charges after attacking corrections officers.
Officers responded to a report of a medical emergency inside the block, where the man was apparently suffering a seizure. He then struck a female corrections officer. While being moved to a cell, he bit a second officers and was tased. The third officer was injured trying to remove the taser probes from the inmate.
All three officers and the inmate were transported to Ministry Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill and cleared.
The suspect has not been identified, and was in the Lincoln County jail due to overcrowding in Portage County. Footage from the incident is being reviewed before a report is filed with the District Attorney's office.
