WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) Job cuts are coming at WPS.

The company gave notice to the state that it will cut 201 jobs in Wausau and 250 jobs in Madison and Monona.

The decision comes as the company lost a contact to process medical claims for Tricare, a health program for military families. The company also lost a Medicare contract last year.

Large employers are required to give 60-days notice before large-scale layoffs. WPS hasn't said when the job cuts will be coming.
