Marquette Looks To Stay Hot At Home

MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) The Marquette men’s basketball team will go for its 21st straight home victory tonight, when it hosts South Florida.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a 10-point win over Providence on Saturday, in what will forever be known as “The Bat Game.” Play was interrupted to get a flying bat out of the B-M-O Harris Bradley Center, while the arena lights were turned off with 7:36 left.

Marquette is in second place in the Big East Conference at 5-and-1 – and Buzz Williams’ team is 14-and-4 overall. South Florida is last in the league at 1-and-6, with a 10-and-9 overall mark.

The Bulls are coming off a 73-65 loss to Notre Dame on Saturday. Zach LeDay led South Florida in that contest with 17 points, and guard Anthony Collins had eight assists.

Marquette had balanced scoring in its win over Providence, with four players scoring in double figures. Senior guard Junior Cadougan (kuh-doo’-gn) led the way with 15, as the Eagles shot 49-percent from the floor and 83-percent from the free throw line.

Also tonight, the U-W Green Bay women will play at Wright State.
