Milwaukee Co. Supervisor pay reform bill would hold referendum until next year

MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The West Allis state lawmaker pushing a draft bill to cut the pay of Milwaukee County supervisors has agreed to a delay of up to a year.

State Representative Joe Sanfelippo says the bill will still be introduced in about a week, calling for a referendum at a future date.

The delay will give supervisors a chance to enact their own reforms.

Sanfelippo has made county reform his top priority in his first month in office.

His bill originally called for an April referendum which would have cut the pay of Milwaukee County supervisors by 70 percent, to $15,000 a year.
