CHETEK, WI  (WSAU)  -  A Thursday night crash on Highway 53 has left one person dead. Wisconsin State Patrol officials say the crash happened in Barron County near Chetek at about 6:50 p.m.  

The car slid off the Chetek exit and rolled onto its roof.  The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.  A passenger was taken to Lakeview Hospital in Rice Lake with serious injuries.

The road was snow covered and slippery at the time.  No names have been released yet.
