ST. PAUL, MN (WSAU) - Wisconsin has adapted to indoor smoking bans in public places.  Now, neighboring Minnesota is considering an outdoor smoking ban at its state fair.

The Minnesota State Fair’s Brienna Schuette told the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper that they are considering designated smoking areas on the 320 acre fairgrounds on top of existing bans inside the fair buildings.

The locations of the smoking areas have not been determined, but they have until August to make those plans.

A 2-year-old girl from Graceville, Minnesota was accidentally poked in the eye and injured by a burning cigarette at last year’s state fair.
