STEVENS POINT, Wis (WSAU) About 80 Stevens Point teachers are asking the school board not to renew the contract of superintendent Attila Weninger. The school board says they'll wait August to decide.
Weninger's contract runs through the end of the 2014 school year. But if the board didn't take action last night, the contract would have automatically renewed.
Many teachers spoke during the public comment session, complaining of Weninger's managerial style - saying he hasn't solved many of the district's problems like growing class size and tighter budgets. Some teachers say they'll continue to speak out at future board meetings.
Weninger was at last night's board meeting, but didn't respond to the teachers' complaints.
