Turtle Lake woman dies in Highway 8 crash Tuesday morning

BARRON, WI (WSAU) -  A Turtle Lake woman is dead after a head-on crash early Tuesday on Highway 8 just east of Barron. Barron County Sheriff’s Department investigators say the crash happened at 6:15 a.m.

52-year-old Cheryl Baglien was westbound and passing on a double yellow line on a curve when she collided with an eastbound semi driven by Steven Hoffman of Exeland. Cheryl Baglien was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, 17-year-old Chloe Baglien was flown from the scene to Regions Hospital in the Twin Cities with serious injuries.

Traffic was routed around the crash using highways O and W for eight hours while investigators cleared the wreckage and conducted their investigation.
